Basically Life Gets Messy

Hello dearies,

Man has it been a long time since I’ve worked on a blog post at all on here. What happened? My work schedule has been  all over the place which in turn messes up my sleeping schedule. Last night I went to bed at 8pm completely forgetting that the Grammy’s were in fact taking place. I slept over 10 hours and I still feel pretty exhausted. I always feel like I need a vacation. So nothing really exciting except that I dipped my toes back in to the dating realm. Man oh man, was it messy. Long story short always follow your gut instinct and remember that at the end of the day all you have is yourself. Be true to yourself above everything else. Don’t worry about what other people tell you, get away if you need to, really listen to yourself and analyze things. If something isn’t quite adding up or you just deep down inside know that things aren’t going to work. Just be honest and get out before things get really bad and way worse than it needs to be. Always, no matter what stay true to yourself.

Due to all of the stress I’ve gained a bit of wight which I am desperately trying to loose which in turns mean, it’s back to the gym for me! Apart from that I now have gastritis and my blood pressure was low for a while due to lack of eating schedule and all of the work stress. Have you ever been so stressed that it all of a sudden becomes normal? I’m right there with you.

I have however purchased quite a bit of skin care and new makeup. So I’ll be back up and running with reviews among other things.

I want to end this blog post with a big thank you to all of those who have remained subscribe to this. Life gets messy it will knock the wind out of us and have us crying ourselves to sleep, but that is what makes it beautiful. There’s always a light at then of the tunnel no matter how miserable and chaotic things may seem now… you’ll survive.

Much love as always,

-Kat

“Where Are You From?” Ethnicity Tag

Hello my beautiful and lovely readers!

I am back after a week off to prepare for all of the Thanksgiving Sheenanigans. I hope all of you who celebrate the holiday had a beautiful time with your families. I had probably one of the best times I’ve had with friends and my family. The only downside was that we had to cut it short due to my work schedule. I had to go in at 11:30 p.m. to produce the 4:30 a.m. news show. If I’ve learned something about working in television is that: 1. the show always goes on and 2. we don’t really have a day off, whether it’s a holiday or not all of us have to come together to help put on a show.

I am working on a more thorough ColourPop cosmetics review for you guys, since I received last week one of their holiday palattes. I think I will post that one first before I do another review with their regular shadows.

For this post I wanted to do a tag this time concentrating a little bit more on my ethnicity. Personally my ethnicity is something that I am very proud of and every day I try to indulge and learn all that I can about my origin. Let’s begin shall we?

1. Where are you from?

I was actually born in San Francisco, Ca. An absolutely fantastic and beautiful city that I hold close to heart. My parents however come from a tiny and beautiful country in Central America, El Salvador. My dad has Spanish and Mayan Roots and on my mother’s side her entire family is from Spain as well.

2. When was the last time you visited your country?

Well technically speaking, I’m american so this is my country, but the “homeland” as you would say about a year ago. I kicked off the new year by traveling. I absolutely love it there! I love the weather, the aream the people, the language. Everything!

3. What part of the country are your parents from?

My mother comes from a small city by the name of Nejapa and my father comes from a rural city by the name of Aguilares. My mother however spent most of years between San Salvador and Quezaltepeque with family and such.

3. Name the ethnic food from your household that you enjoy the most.

Are you kidding? I love absolutely everything! Pupusas of couse! El Salvador is famous for their delicious pupusas, my favorite being the ones mixed with cheese and beans. I also love eating a dessert dish by the name of nuegados  which are little fried cakes made out of yucca root. Spanish side, I absolutely adore paella and of course tapas. Really too many to name.

4. Name the household items that best represent your culture.

Oh man, tough question. Um we have a couple of like crafts we have bought from our travels, but I think the best one I own is a necklace that I purchased while I visiting Mayan ruins of San Andres. It’s the Mayan Yucatec I believe is his name. Also a decoration that shows the old Salvadoran Currrency known as the Colon, named after Christopher Columbus, or Cristobal Colon in Spanish.

5. Do you speak your language?

Pero por supuesto! Thanks to my mother as a young girl I learned to read and write in Spanish which I thank her for each day! I also speak nothing but Spanish when I am with my family so I won’t forget it.

OKay that’s all I have for today! I hope you found this tag interesting and helped you learned something! If you’re interested I would love to learn more from you as well!

If you have any questions or comments feel free to leave one below and I will get back to you!

Until next time and much love as always,

-Kat

Hello Once Again

Hello You Lovely People!

It has most definitely been several months since I have sat down to write a blog. Things have been going so well in my professional world that I haven’t had much free time to myself. As you may now, I am blessed to be a television producer for a morning show in Sacramento and that takes the majority of my time. When I have a free time, I like to spend it catching up with my friends and family as well as catching up on sleep! So, as we tend to do, we sometimes put things in the back burner to concentrate on other areas. Now, things are once again where I can plan out my days on where I can sit down to concentrate on my blog which I absolutely love. It’s a bit of a hobby of mine that helps me take my mind from certain responsibilities and relax.

However in these many months that I have been away I have had the chance to try a lot of various items as well as subscribe to a new beauty box (no it’s not ipsy). I have many notes and I’m now working on the order that I will be putting them up.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer! I will be posting a new post here shortly.
